Although my foot technically measures as a medium width in women's shoes, I often have to wear a wide (D width) because I literally cannot fit my orthotics plus my foot with its high step into a regular width shoe. I have plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia, plus extremely high arches and a very high instep. It is deep enough to accommodate custom orthotics. This leather Saucony ProGrid Integrity ST2 is the best neutral walking shoe for an underpronator with high arches who tends to walk on the outside of the foot. If you bothered to read all this, you are the kind of person I bothered to write all this down for. If you are not prepared to get a size larger and wider than you normally wear, and you're not prepared to return them if they don't fit, you will never wear this shoe. If you have s high arches, they are going to be tight across the top of the shoe above the arch. I also had to go from a medium to a wide.
Some people, especially those who weather's orthodics, may have to go up a size and a half. Insert has added foam on underside, so no need to add heel inserts, etc. And it lifts my heel enough to keep weight off of my heels. I am walking again! My fast paced mall walk has returned, thanks to the Progrid Integrity ST 2.
